Our Trip so Far.

Well….it is weird without Sophie. (*pause* moment of silence remembering her)

Our first stop was an overnight in Hopewell, Virginia to visit with Wayne and Jayn, the couple who sold us the RV. They have many RV road stories to tell and we enjoy sharing ours as well.

We spent the evening drinking wine and telling stories that ended with a nice dinner at the Outback Steakhouse nearby. Before we left we showed them all of the modification that we had done to the RV and they seemed very pleased with how well we are taking care of the rig.

We are now in North Carolina at The Falls Lake State Park.

In 1981 the dam that created the lake, developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers to control damaging floods and provide a water supply source, was completed and the State Park was born.

There is plenty of wildlife, hiking and biking trails as well as fishing, swimming and boating to keep anyone busy for a long time. We enjoyed our first day here just relaxing and soaking up the quiet.

We watched this blue herring catch and eat a big fish while we were at the lake.

However our reason for being here is to visit our son, daughter-in-law and new grandson Liam. Time to put on our “grandparent” hats again and go get some snuggle time with the baby!
