Fresh off John\u2019s job in Atlanta, Georgia we head up to the Raleigh area of North Carolina to visit our son Brad and his family and our daughter Julia and the boys. They both need some work done around their houses, and I need G\u2019ma time with the boys.<\/p>\n

While Brad and Tiffany are at work and kids are away, we get started on the windows. I say \u201cwe\u201d but I really mean John. I am the holder, fetcher, and picker-upper of things. John Mostoller and Paul Hardy know exactly what I mean.<\/p>\n

Seems like John has spent most of his life on a ladder. This project took us a couple of days.<\/p>\n

On the second day, since John didn\u2019t need my help so much, I kept the three boys. Liam helped Pappy dress up the windows on the inside, putting up molding.<\/p>\n

Watching Liam and Pappy work apparently made all three boys tired or something.<\/p>\n

I thought to myself, \u201cThis is not the way three little boys should be acting.\u201d Boys are supposed to be loud, running around and wrestling and just being, well, boys. G\u2019ma needs to fix. It is too hot to go outside so what is a G\u2019ma to do? Pappy said he needed some things for the window and was going out. I told him to get a big pack of twelve inch balloons. My favorite disappearing toy.<\/p>\n

After a lot of hot air, of which I have plenty, and 120 balloons later, we are having some fun. G\u2019ma feels better now.<\/p>\n

Next, John showed Brad how to lay the floor.<\/p>\n

Several hours and thousands of dollars in savings later, swearing aside along with a few botched tiles, and the floor is done. Brad got a lot of self-satisfaction out of this project, he did it all except some of the cutting.<\/p>\n

Now that all the work is done, its time for Pappy to have some time with the boys. He is finally getting the hang of having grandsons after spending most of his life surrounded by women. Growing up there were three sisters and his mother, then getting married and having one daughter, and then marrying me who still had her daughter at home, to finally having his first granddaughter. Boys just want to wrestle and Pappy makes a great jungle-gym.<\/p>\n
