Back in Quartzsite, Arizona!!!! Yay. It is sunny, warm and no humidity which is a welcome change from the summer we spent on the East coast which was cloudy, rainy and humid.<\/p>\n

After arriving we, along with Phil and Sue, decide to head downtown to look around and get the activities list for the area. Andy and Candy aren\u2019t due to arrive for a few days so we\u2019ve got time to do some Jeepin.<\/p>\n

Dripping Springs is an area where you can see petroglyphs at the end of the moderate, 5-mile long, off-road trail. Day-trip, perfect.<\/p>\n

I always have great plans of taking pictures as we negotiate some of these Jeep trails. It really is amazing what they can do. However, I\u2019m usually so busy hanging on and fretting about whether or not we will fit through a pass, make it over a rock or whatever, I forget. Luckily our friend Sue was able to get a shot as we negotiated our way through the wash.<\/p>\n

But I got a great picture at the top of the hill!<\/p>\n

We have witnessed a blooming desert only once since we\u2019ve been on the road and I fear we will be missing this one as well. The cacti are getting ready everywhere I look.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Somewhere up there is a dripping spring. The desert gets almost no rain fall so where the water could be coming from is anyone\u2019s guess. Maybe it will be all dried up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Turns out Dripping Springs is a small 3-foot high cave opening, with a stagnant puddle of water covered with green slime that probably gets a drop of water once an hour. The dog found a clean spot to have a small drink so I guess\u2026<\/p>\n

Now that we found the spring its time to look for petroglyphs. With all the graffiti it is hard to know what is real and what is not.<\/p>\n

It was a fun day. Now we have to make our way back the trail. I think Phil\u2019s smile is more of a grimace at the thought of the narrow wash, steep grades and technical rock negotiating. How fun!!!<\/p>\n
