Last May, Andy and Candy joined us at one of our Thousand Trails campgrounds. When they made reservations, the customer service representative informed them that it was resort style camping. Mostly meaning they had nice grounds, full hookups, recreation activities, camp store, hot tubs and pools.<\/p>\n

On our way to Quartzsite, AZ we decided to stop and visit our friends Duane and Debbie, whom we met the first year we worked at Amazon. There is a Thousand Trails campground close to them so John booked us in for a couple of days.<\/p>\n

Voyager Resort and Hotel, listed as one of Arizona\u2019s best campgrounds. OK, heard that before.<\/p>\n

This place is UNBELIEVABLE!!! The park has 800+ campsites and park models. The recycling center was so far away John gave up trying to find it by bicycle, and we drove around until we found it on the other side of the campground from us.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Where to begin? They have 3 swimming pools, 2 outside, 1 inside and all three are heated.<\/p>\n

Andy and Candy, check out this hot tube! John had fun trying to swim laps. It could easily fit 30 people. They have a second hot tub that is smaller and made for just a couple of people.<\/p>\n

Outdoor sports included shuffleboard, botchi ball, pickle ball and tennis.<\/p>\n

Not to mention a \u201cCountry Club\u201d and golf coarse within the park\u2019s boundary.<\/p>\n

The fitness center in most parks is usually a stationary bike, a treadmill and an elliptical machine in a teeny tiny room. This park\u2019s fitness area looks like a mini Planet Fitness with almost all of the same workout equipment. It is huge!!<\/p>\n

The hotel, just in case you have family that wants to visit, has several cozy sitting areas in its courtyard.<\/p>\n

Still inside the boundary of the campground, there is a full blown restaurant\/Bar & Grill, a nice camp store, a hair salon, massage parlor, laundry facilities, a medical clinic and woodshop. Yes a woodshop. Guess the men need something to do too.<\/p>\n

Yeah, we could retire here. It was over the top as parks go and we almost felt uncomfortable with its \u201cresortness\u201d…almost.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
