Daleville, Alabama. It is a rundown little town. A good portion of the homes are trailers, each with a fenced in yard and at least one dog. The Alabama Wildwood Campground we are staying at is more like a bunch-of-people-living-in-campers then it is a campground per say. Most tenants are long term or semi-permanent, based on the number of flat tires on the rigs we saw.<\/p>\n

As lessons learned in Kadoka, South Dakota, don\u2019t judge a campground by its looks alone.<\/p>\n

Donna, who runs the \u201ccampground\u201d is an absolute dear. She is funny, talkative and full of helpful information about restaurants and shopping. She cares about her guests and it shows.<\/p>\n

Since the campground is on the backside of a loop road that leads into town, there is very little traffic, so aside from the helicopters flying at the base, it is very quiet.<\/p>\n

We are nestled in the trees next to some quiet neighbors that just aren\u2019t around much.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The view out the front window isn\u2019t the most spectacular but the birds fly around in the field a lot so I have something to watch.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our backyard is much more spectacular. This past Saturday I thought one of those big Black Hawk helicopters was going to crash-land on the rig. Nope just airboats running up and down the Choctawhatchee River. Dang they are LOUD!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We also have a little swampy pond about 10 yards from the coach and it makes for a nice break spot for lunch during the day. The birds flit around but I haven\u2019t seen any turtles, frogs or fish yet. It is probably too cold.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

To cold at night maybe, 40s, but the days are warm and the temperatures have been into the mid 70s. Not really the kind of weather that gets me in the mood for Christmas. I need that shot of cold air to make me feel like shopping, baking and decorating. Speaking of decorating\u2026.<\/p>\n

I LOVE snowmen so I thought it was about time that Bernie stepped up with a scarf and nose that I crocheted earlier in the fall. I made his hat from felt and cardboard and some trimmings. He came out kind of cute!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our little tree fits nicely on the steering wheel table. I hang some lights, and garland around the coach, which always gains me some snickers from John. I love Christmas time and decorating for the season, and he likes to watch my \u201ccraziness\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This year I added crocheted snowflakes to our window dressings. I worked on them for a year. They weren\u2019t hard to make but I HATE making picots and snowflakes have lots of them.<\/p>\n

Here are a couple out of the 10 I made. Yes they are all different patterns. Everyone knows no 2 snowflakes are alike. I have a lot more patterns, but I think I want to do some in blue yarn, or maybe silver, or both\u2026.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Most importantly I get to put up all of my snowmen. Thanks to Andy and Candy Bloom I now have one in every \u201croom\u201d so to speak, except the bedroom. There aren\u2019t a whole lot of places to put one and he\/she can\u2019t be very big.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It won\u2019t be long and we will be heading home for Christmas. We are not sure what day, but according to Riesa, we have to be home by December 22nd. John said he will try not to disappoint her.<\/p>\n

We will be staying until after New Year\u2019s. Bill, Jul, our year was good so we are ready to burn another chair.<\/p>\n
