Going to the\u00a0NY wineries\u00a0in Watkins\u00a0Glenn\u00a0is one of our favorite activities especially in the fall. The scenery is beautiful and the air is filled with smells of smashed grapes. When our friends Paul and Bonnie invited us to go along with them, we said “sure, and we’ll even drive!”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Paul makes his own wine and buys the juice from Fulkerson’s, a well known supplier of all-things-needed to make wine. His order was ready and he needed to pick it up. This was going to be a quick trip and we were not going to be able to visit very many wineries, as\u00a0Paul had to be at\u00a0Fulkerson’s by 4:00pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since it was only going to be a quick trip, I made the suggestion that we only go to wineries that we haven’t been to before, or ones we haven’t visited in a while. There is one winery that I wish would expand it’s merchandising line; The Red Newt. Their logo is cute and I think they could do some cool stuff with it, but right now they are not. Darn.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After about 3 hours of wine tasting Bonnie and I were feeling quite good about ourselves. The guys thought that maybe it was time to go get something to eat. I don’t know what John was worried about, I still had both my shoes. Bonnie on the other hand….\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0We headed down town to my favorite eatery, Jerlando’s Ristorante. I love their garlic knots, but I’m sure the rest of their food is delicious as well, I tend to just order the knots. The nice thing about this trip, is I actually remember going to Jerlando’s and they stayed in my stomach rather than ending up on the side of the road (if you know what I mean). Progress!\u00a0<\/p>\n

After we finished eating we headed to Fulkerson’s to get Paul’s wine and head home. Short trips may be the way to go for me if I want to remember the trip, keep all the food I eat and make it home with all my clothes on me. Hmm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
