Thanks to a friend and former colleague, the Spyglass Ridge Celtic festival, John was introduced to someone who offered him an exciting new opportunity. One that would use his \u201cJack-of-all-trades\u201d skills, plus earn him a few new ones.<\/p>\n

BSC Associates, LLC<\/a> flight simulator re-locators, moves flight simulators for commercial airlines, from training center to training center. They are world wide movers  so we may have the opportunity to spend some time overseas. (Candy, just let us know where you want to RV sit for us and we will park her there. *wink\u201d)<\/p>\n

Because of his main skill, being an electrician, his major role is the computer room, though he works on all of the simulator parts as do the others on the crew.<\/p>\n

This bundle of computer and electrical wire is called the \u201cwaterfall\u201d; you can see how it got its name.<\/p>\n

The computer room sets on a raised floor and all of the cabling that comes out of the blade server racks are run under the floor to the \u201cwaterfalls\u201d.<\/p>\n

Talk about a lot of wires!!! Each on has to be labeled, documented and disconnected. This way when it comes time to hook everything back up it will go smoothly.<\/p>\n

The simulator has to be supported and jacked up\/down so that the legs that move the simulator around can be removed.<\/p>\n

Once the simulator is lowered to the floor it can be prepared for shipping. The parts are bagged.<\/p>\n

A big forklift then loads the simulator and all of its parts on to several trucks and it is taken to its next home.<\/p>\n

Easy peasy right? Not. The process is pretty amazing, though. Now we are off to Vegas, where this simulator will be reassembled. Good thing John likes tearing things apart and putting them back together.
