Will it ever stop raining? Apparently not soon enough for the Heart concert at Spyglass Ridge Winery. We wanted to get a camping spot in which we could fit our 40\u2019 home, so we came up the Tuesday before the concert.<\/p>\n

It hadn\u2019t rained for a few days so we thought we would be okay driving in the field. NOT! Though we drove the jeep in to check the ground, and walked around checking, we had no concept of how heavy 40,000 pounds really is. The coach went pretty good at first, then she started to sink.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The more we tried to get out, the worse it got. She really started leaning too, making it hard to dig our way out.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

At one point John was so desperate he got the bright idea that our little 4000 pound Jeep Rubicon could help pull our girl out of her predicament. Our friend Carl was on hand to help out. John told me that when he started to pull I should try to back up. Problem\u2026.I couldn\u2019t tell when he was pulling. The coach is just too big. Carl said that the jeep was throwing mud and spinning away and the coach never twitched. We eventually got her unstuck after a lot of digging and decided we were going to sit tight until the next day.<\/p>\n

The next afternoon the ground was dry enough that we were able to move the coach to higher ground with a straight shot out of the field to the road.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

However, it continued to rain on and off all week. The road in and out of the field got worse and worse as more campers pulled in. Getting out was going to be as bad as getting in!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The rain did let up for concert day thank goodness. The grounds were packed with fans and as evening fell Heart took the stage.<\/p>\n

I was amazed at how much they still looked and sounded like the Heart I remembered as a teenager.<\/p>\n

They played for a couple of hours, but alas it came to an end. Our group all had a great time singing along with the songs, and many stayed to hang out with us while the parking lot cleared.<\/p>\n

Some folks were determined to leave Monday morning. It didn\u2019t go well for them. Several RV\u2019s got stuck because the ground was still to soft.<\/p>\n

A tractor eventually came and pulled out those that were stuck and needed to get out right away.<\/p>\n

We stayed until Tuesday and had no problems getting out. We learned some important lessons this week that we will not forget. Things could have gone much worse.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
