You can follow it start to finish over several days or just jump in on the parts you are interested.<\/p>\n<p>We ended the previous day\u2019s activities with the recruitment effort. Next we heard about uprisings over gunpowder confiscation, and the Governor and his family fleeing their estate.<\/p>\n<p>There were some big chunks of the story we missed because of other sight seeing we were doing but each venue did their best to keep tourists informed of where they were in the time line. Notice the rough looking mirrors high up on the walls. These were not used for fulfilling the Governor\u2019s vanity, they were too high and not very clear.<\/p>\n<p>These mirrors were placed to catch sunlight, firelight and candle light to help brighten the room.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5649.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5649_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The mantels around the fireplaces were very impressive as was the artwork on the walls.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5650.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5650_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next we went upstairs to checkout the bedrooms. Our guide reminded us often that the family had returned to England because it was becoming to dangerous for them to remain, citing the gunpowder riots and the war efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Here is Lady Dunmore\u2019s bedroom, quite different from the tavern sleeping quarters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5666.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5666_thumb.jpg?resize=529%2C703&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"703\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lady Dunmore\u2019s daughter\u2019s bed. Our guide was sure that the child was probably quite distressed because she never went anywhere without her beloved doll. She hoped that meant someday the family would return, but she doubted it, \u201cdon\u2019t ya know?\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5660.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5660_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The carpets are imported from somewhere, can\u2019t remember. There were large portraits of the king and queen and a couple others I can\u2019t remember.
