Miss. G, the owner of Rutledge Lake RV Resort and Campground, had a dream\u2026.she wanted to take little cabin #17 and expand it to include a living room and kitchen in addition to the one room bedroom and bathroom already existing.<\/p>\n

John said \u201cI can do that!\u201d So on March 3rd he got to work.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

First to go was the screened in porch and siding.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

He then built the floor for the new living room \/ kitchen edition.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Next up went the walls. It is now March 6th.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

He finished the walls, put up the roof trusses and laid the roof.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

(I keep saying \u201che\u201d because, he is doing this part all by himself.)<\/p>\n

The windows went in, along with the sliding glass door. At this point his work on the outside is done, time to move to the inside.<\/p>\n

It is now March 10th.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

He installed the electrical box and ran the wiring for the new kitchen and living room.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After he planned out the kitchen, figured out where all of the plumbing needed to be it was time for the floor and wall treatments.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Miss G decided she wanted tile floor. So he crawled back under the new addition and put in a few more supports to help stabilize the floor for the additional weight.<\/p>\n

During this time, the painter was in and painted the ceiling.<\/p>\n

Next the Durock was put down and the tile was installed and grouted. After that he put up paneling in the new edition.<\/p>\n

By April 3rd the \u201coutside\u201d crew showed up. He gave them basic directions and the father and son got to work putting the siding on and constructing the deck as well as installing the new skirting.<\/p>\n

The cabinets and appliances were not on site so John turned his attention to the bathroom.<\/p>\n

The original construction had the bedroom and bathroom as one room. So he put up a wall to separate the bathroom from the bedroom. In addition to the new wall, he incorporated a much needed closet.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Tile floor, matching the kitchen was laid, along with a new sink and vanity.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

John noticed that there was an outside window that had been covered up by the installation of the shower. So he removed the window, and relocated it to the shower area.<\/p>\n

Nice light and good for ventilation huh?<\/p>\n

He built a take-apart-closet that hid the water heater, provided an additional closet space and installed a ventilation fan.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With his work done in the bathroom, the mudding \/ painting crew Ms. Laurel and Ms. Audrey made quick work of finishing up the bathroom.<\/p>\n

It is now April 15th\u2019ish and the rest of the kitchen showed up, so John set and installed the kitchen cabinets\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026.cut and laid the counter top and sink, and installed the hood for over the stove.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The air conditioning unit showed up just in time for John to get that installed and tested as well.<\/p>\n

By now, April 17th, the summer replacement arrived and they will be finishing little cabin #17. It really did come out cute.<\/p>\n
