Originally we were going to put the washer and drier in the large closet in the new bathroom and make the old bathroom a walk in pantry. I changed my mind and said I really would like a laundry room instead. <\/p>\n

\nThe original bathroom was so small it was hard to get pictures that really showed its true size. The first picture shows the entry way.  The door would not open all of the way because it was bumping into the sink on the right. <\/p>\n

Next to the sink was the toilet and next to the toilet, in the second picture, you can see the short bath tub at the back of the room. <\/p>\n

To the left was a shower stall and an unfinished, cob web filled linen closet.  The tile on the walls was plastic not ceramic which made removal easy.<\/p>\n

\nWe, or should I say Paul and John, gutted the room right down to the cinder block walls.<\/p>\n

John then moved the doorway away from the new bathroom doorway a foot or so, studded out the walls, put in the plumbing for the washer, ran electrical wires, insulated, and put up the drywall.  I spackled, sanded and painted.<\/p>\n

\nThe room may have been too small for a bathroom, but it was just right for a laundry room, well almost; there wasn’t quite enough room for a slop sink.<\/p>\n

John changed the swing-in door to a sliding door, saving space in the laundry room and hallway. He also created a laundry shoot from the upstairs bathroom which will come in very handy. <\/p>\n

We tried to make the best use of the available space in the room and hung lots of shelving.  That also created areas for us to hang our winter coats so we could get them out of our closet and out of the living room.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
