John has been laid-off from his construction job for 2 weeks now, which for me and the dogs means he has enough energy to take us hiking! Just in time for the fall foliage too.<\/p>\n

Helen's Window (LT)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Last weekend we decided on an impromptu hike on the Loyalsock Trail. We headed to Little Bear State Park, where the Loyalsock Trail begins. At the ranger station we headed into the woods hiking towards Helen’s Window and Smith’s Knob. This was probably not the best choice for our first hike in 6 months plus. It is ALL up hill, and quite steep in some parts. We didn’t make it past Helen’s Window.<\/p>\n

This weekend we were a bit smarter. John picked an easy hike in the Old Logger’s Path area. Though most of the hike was up hill, it was a gentle up hill that barely tired us out. It was warm and the air smelled so fresh. Pleasant Stream was running full and clean; I just wanted to take a big ‘ole drink!<\/p>\n
