Since it is the farthest point from our campground in Madison, we decided to head there first.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4015.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4015_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are in \u201cGeyser Country\u201d! As you approach the area you can see steam rising from the ground.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3301_thumb2.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"IMG_3301_thumb[2]\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3301_thumb2_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C437&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"IMG_3301_thumb[2]\" width=\"580\" height=\"437\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The fun part about Old Faithful is the waiting, watching and trying to out guess the rest of the people around you as to when it will erupt. I mean Mother Nature doesn\u2019t necessarily know about exact timelines and predictions. It would tease with a lot of steam output, then nothing. A little spurt of water, then nothing. But when it finally got going it really went!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3325.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3325_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C435&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"435\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of other geysers in this area as well as beautiful mats of bacteria and thermophiles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3346.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3346_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is hard to believe that life grows in almost boiling water that can be as acidic as battery acid.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3342.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3342_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C437&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"437\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And sad to learn that people have to be reminded not to be stupid.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3347.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3347_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These are my two favorite pools in the Old Faithful geyser area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3389.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3389_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C230&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"230\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The pictures do not do either of these pools justice.
