We\u2019ve moved from Grant Village to Madison campground. The campsite looks the same, we are squeezed between two trees, and in addition we have no Internet, no satellite, no cell service. When you have scenery like this in your backyard, it hardly matters.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was getting late in the day so we decided to do a short drive and take the scenic Firehole Lake Drive in the Lower Geyser Basin. In fact we drove this little stretch of road twice at two different times of day for photo ops.<\/p>\n

We stopped at the Hot Lake<\/strong> area and met with this sign. Quite the greeting.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Great Fountain Geyser<\/strong> wasn\u2019t scheduled to erupt while we were there but even so it was pretty to look at. This geyser\u2019s eruptions average 100ft with rare superburts of up to 200ft.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This little guy is called Young Hopeful<\/strong>, cute huh?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The White Dome Geyser<\/strong> finished erupting just as we approached.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But we had fun playing around with photographing it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We could have spent a lot of time on Firehole Lake Drive just taking pictures at different times of the day. Maybe next time we come to Yellowstone. For now it is time to head back to camp.<\/p>\n

In the evening we, and lots of other campers, wandered down close to the stream, spread out a blanket and waited for the sun to set.<\/p>\n

We watched a couple fly fish this stretch of stream by the campground and it looked so peaceful. Our friend Jim Moors has offered to teach us to fly fish if we can make our way to Colorado next year. We are sure take him up on his offer whenever we see him next.<\/p>\n

But alas, the day is over, time for bed.<\/p>\n
