The Labor Day weekend is over and the park is gearing down as the weather cools, less campers visit the park, and the hosts, like us, are moving on to their next jobs.<\/p>\n

Our final weeks at Anderson Cove have been one celebration after another. The first was the Ladies Luncheon at the Rainbow Gardens Restaurant and Gift Shop. This establishment is very much like our Country Cupboard back home. After a great lunch we all went SHOPPING!!!!!! I found some really neat things that I\u2019ll talk about in a later post.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The next big to-do was a picnic for all the hosts from all the surrounding campgrounds not just Anderson Cove. Brrr!! It was cool and windy that day.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then there was my favorite event: the pie and ice cream get together that Jefferson Hunt\u2019s hosts Glenda and her husband Windy put on for everyone at Anderson Cove. I LOVE PIE\u2026.and ice cream\u2026.and cookies\u2026.and cake\u2026..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The first host to leave was Bob. John and I call him \u201cWater Bob\u201d. He was one of the grounds crew, and his job was to keep the park looking green. No small task in a desert climate, but with some tenacity and a lot of energy he kept the sprinklers running. Bob is very philosophical, and I enjoyed his anecdotes and sharing with him my own philosophies.<\/p>\n

Our \u201cneighbors\u201d Bill and Myrna will be leaving the end of September, and I will miss them. They have been great to hang out with and get to know and their little dog Bandit, was just a joy!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The rest of the crew will most likely be staying until mid-October to close down the park.<\/p>\n

Robert and Christine, who run the tent side and day use area of the park, have shutdown their side and will be helping the hosts in the other loops and with  maintenance needs.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The maintenance crew and their wives will be staying through until the end of season closing up the park and the store.<\/p>\n

Marie (store) and Howie (maintenance) are from Wisconsin. They will be staying to help shutdown the park in October. They are both fun people to work and relax with at gatherings.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Kathy (store) and Joe (maintenance) will both be staying late as well. Kathy introduced me to Mouse Blankets and I can\u2019t wait to get all of my supplies and try making my first one. John\u2019s reaction was \u201cHow many hobbies do you need?\u201d Hmmm\u2026I don\u2019t know yet.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Kim and Don (maintenance) will be staying to the end as well. They both had easy going attitudes and laughed easily. We enjoyed hanging out with both of them; funny, entertaining people.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our time at Anderson Cove may be over, but the friends we made in Utah will be with us a long time.<\/p>\n

Rene and Rich worked over at Port Ramp Marina and though we didn\u2019t work with them on a day to day basis, we spent after hours hanging out, drinking beer and \u201cshoot\u2019in the shit\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our area managers Rick and Karla welcomed us back anytime as camphosts and wished us well on our journey.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As we were preparing to pull out of Anderson Cove there were lots of hugs and well wishes. I don\u2019t allow tears and definitely no goodbyes.  The only farewells I like are: \u201cYou be careful out there\u201d and \u201cSee ya on down the road\u201d, and we are sure we will.<\/p>\n
