Every now and again John needs to go shoot something. I try to view it as a hobby he enjoys and not a way to rid himself of say\u2026 frustration with me. (*wink*)<\/p>\n

He found a small group of guys getting together to have a shooting match using \u201cAfrican game targets\u201d and their BIG GUNS!! There isn\u2019t a lot of opportunity around the area to do this as a group so John was anxious to get out and meet some like minded fellows.<\/p>\n

For not having shot his big bore rifle in about 2 years he did OK. After he got back in the rhythm he managed to get a brain kill shot. That area is about the size of a golf ball on a big game animal\u2019s head.<\/p>\n

As for me, in between John\u2019s rounds I occupied myself by chatting with the other shooters, trying to identify the birds flitting around and taking pictures of desert flowers.<\/p>\n

My favorite part was the silhouette shoot of the cape buffalo. They had it mounted on a sort of dolly and someone would run pulling a rope to move the silhouette towards the shooter. It was fun and funny!

The vendors were starting to pack up but there were still several football fields of vendors and activities mostly centered around children. They had a HUGE pool setup filled with about 2-3 ft of water and they were teaching kids to kayak.<\/p>\n

Tons of reptiles. These guys were my favorites.<\/p>\n

A big show of birds of prey too.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m particular to the owls.<\/p>\n
