Well we have arrived in Coffeyville Kansas, and have settled in our new backyard for the next month and half. But before we got here we made one last tourist stop.<\/p>\n

The Beaver Lake area in Arkansas is heavy on outdoor sports, especially fishing, obviously, but while out hiking we noticed several historical site along the way. The War Eagle Grist Mill located along War Eagle Creek had a sandwich shop so we decided to stop in for some lunch and touring.<\/p>\n

The original mill was built in 1832, destroyed in 1838 when War Eagle Creek flooded, and burned down twice after being rebuilt. While the mill was in operation the War Eagle community grew and eventually there was a sawmill, carpentry shop and a blacksmith shop. The mill however was the center of activities such as square dancing, socializing and even weddings. In 1973, 50 years after the 3rd mill burned, a fourth mill was built on the same foundation as a reproduction of the first mill. \"x-default\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Which is the working mill that is here today.<\/p>\n

We spent some time wandering through the mill shop and gift shop, making our way up to the 3rd floor for some lunch. We bought some blue cornmeal pancake mix and some dinner roll flour mix and of course I had to buy some fun stuff for Riesa.<\/p>\n

Monday evening we had a fire at one of the lake overlooks and celebrated our 1st year living in the RV.<\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t leave until December, but we moved into the RV soon after we brought it home. Gave us a chance to try out the small living space and workout any issues. Doesn\u2019t seem so long ago that we were mowing grass, weeding and shoveling snow.<\/p>\n
