We and our jeep friends in PA love to play in it. However it takes on a whole new meaning here in South Dakota. They call their mud \u201cGumbo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The soil is a kind of clay and it is slippery like ice\/snow when wet. It sticks to EVERYTHING and doesn\u2019t wash off easily. Once it is dry, it is like concrete, I couldn\u2019t kick this mud off of the tire guard.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1327.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1327_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you have dust on your car and it rains, it doesn\u2019t wash it off, it slimes the car.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1328.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1328_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the sun comes out and starts drying the soil it cracks and becomes flakey.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1336.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1336_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C388&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"388\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We took Sophie out for a walk after a rain and though it was just a quick thunder shower the ground got a little soupy. It caked up on our boots and in Sophie\u2019s paws.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1374.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2dogsbarkin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_1374_thumb.jpg?resize=580%2C436&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She would stop and periodically and get the mud out between her toes herself, but at one point she gave up and just laid down. We cleaned the mud that was collecting in her paws and nails and then she took off running, bouncing like a puppy! Too funny for us.<\/p>\n<p>I however, still haven\u2019t gotten all of the mud off of my boots.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ve all seen mud.
