We pulled into the Kadoka RV Park and it didn\u2019t take John long to buddy up to the camp caretaker and get info about prairie dog towns to hunt and locations of rock piles to search.<\/p>\n

For two days John was in his glory, 200 hundred kills in all. His shoulder was quite sore!<\/p>\n

Waaaayyy out there is the \u201ckilling field\u201d.<\/p>\n

So we hiked in our gear and then it was time to\u2026.<\/p>\n

Get Ready\u2026.<\/p>\n

and Shoot\u2026.and Shoot\u2026.and Shoot\u2026.and Shoot\u2026.you get the idea.<\/p>\n

After he had his fill of shooting the little doggies, we resumed our hunt for the elusive Fairburn agate. Behind us you can see some of the rock beds we searched. (no that isn\u2019t a growth on my head, it is my hair sticking up)<\/p>\n

We found a lot of cool rocks, but only one Fairburn. Oh well, better luck next time.<\/p>\n

We both wanted to visit the Badlands National Park again, since the last time we ran into trouble with the heat. It was 116 back in 2006 when we were hear and everything was brown.<\/p>\n

Could you imagine being a settler back in the day and coming to this after traveling from the East Coast? Awe inspiring and demoralizing at the same time.<\/p>\n

The power of wind and water is just amazing!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Interesting sediment colors of the rock<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

and orange colored water gives you an otherworldly feeling.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Soon our fun will be over and it will be time to head to Sioux Falls and take care of some life business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
