It seems every year about this time I get into some sort of a funk. I hate March. Right now I’m tired of Winter, the cold, and being trapped in the house.\u00a0Watching it snow while I sit inside, wrapped up in my favorite blanket by the fire\u00a0and drinking a hot tea, has lost\u00a0its appeal. Even though meteorological Spring is only 2 weeks away, this calm, quiet\u00a0period before the spring awakening in April seems to go on endlessly.<\/p>\n

This morning before I left for work, my mood got a boost. I discovered a new visitor in the “Secret Garden”. After some deliberation and consulting of my bird book, John and I have decided it is a House Finch.<\/p>\n

We’ve \u00a0had\u00a0American Golden\u00a0Finches all Winter, but the House Finch is a new arrival for us. I was so excited I was squealing. (its the little things in life I enjoy the most) I was late for work today because I didn’t want to leave the house and disturb our new “friend”.<\/p>\n

The weather this weekend is supposed to be a warm 45 degrees with lots of sunshine. I plan on being outside all weekend, either hiking, geocaching, or doing yard work. That should give me another boost. Maybe March will be OK for me this year…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
