We did some more Geocaching and found some interesting sights and got ourselves into an interesting spot.<\/p>\n

This little spot wasn\u2019t remarkable, but evidence of a small fire ring inside and some natural bedding made us ponder the reason someone would shelter here.<\/p>\n

Life in the desert is amazing. Anywhere it can take old, it does.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The most interesting sight we found<\/strong> was a dam, Spencer Dam. Dam\u2019s can be remarkable, but this one impressed us both. The dam was made up of rocks that were most likely gathered from close by, (that was a lot of work) AND IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT. Hmm. I couldn\u2019t find much about it on the web and we didn\u2019t go to the museum to learn more.<\/p>\n

It was such a cool view from the top of the dam, that we thought it deserved a \u201cfeet\u201d picture.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The most interesting spot we got into<\/strong> was when we went for a cache that was close by the camp. After we found the cache John and I together, yes I did agree to the idea, thought we would continue to follow the dirt road we were on to check out an old building we saw in the distance.<\/p>\n

The road did not lead to the building. It did lead up into the hills behind the building and took us down a trail I was pretty sure only ATV\u2019s and dirt bikes used. John put the Rubi in 4 wheel drive and off we went, positive that the trail had to come out somewhere.<\/p>\n

We crawled over big rocks and rolled in and out of large potholes. We squeezed through some tight spots leaving a little of our green paint behind on the bushes. At one point I had to get out of the Jeep and spot while John negotiated the wheels between two holes in the road that were just barely wide enough apart that the Jeep wheels passed around them.<\/p>\n

After all that we came to a crossroads of sort. We could continue on the seemingly unstable hole littered road or a dirt track that was heading in the general direction of the actual road we came in on. We decided to take the dirt path that led across dried up Lake McMillan. At least we hoped it was dried up. On the other side of the lake was a dirt levy that appeared to take us towards the roadway. It did thank goodness.<\/p>\n

Again we had NO provisions with us other than some tow straps and a farm jack. No water, no food, no warm clothes and no one knew where we were. Why is it that what we believe is going to be the simplest trip is the one that gets us into the most trouble???<\/p>\n

We are sorry Papa John Mostoller, we will be sure to let someone know where us kids are going from now on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
