Several years ago some of my friends and family were diagnosed\u00a0with cancer. They lost weight, and energy and even\u00a0their hair. One woman\u00a0cut\u00a0her long (it was down to\u00a0her knees)\u00a0beautiful hair off before it had a chance to fall out. She wanted to save herself the shock so she cut it to about 3″ long before she started treatment.<\/p>\n

The strength all these women show through their ordeal past\/current\/future is inspiring. Unfortunately since I started on my quest to donate my hair two of these wonderful women have lost their battle. God bless them and thier families. All warriors die with honor, the type of battle is not important.<\/p>\n

For most of my life I’ve been told what a lovely color hair I have, so beautiful. Not too red, not to orange, not to blonde, just right. So I got the idea that I would grow my hair long and then donate it to Locks of Love in honor of those “warriors” who are\u00a0battling cancer.<\/p>\n

My hair grows fast, but seems to reach a certain length and then it stops. Well I had reached that point after 2 1\/2 years of trying.<\/p>\n

My hair care professional, Laura Mae, was\u00a0great encouragement for me. She kept telling me that my hair was still growing, it would get long enough, I just had to be patient. Well she was right. Last evening, when I thought I could take my long hair no more, she agreed that it was finally long enough. Yay!<\/p>\n

So I picked out a hair style or two and showed them to Laura Mae to give her an idea what I had in mind for my new hair style. I sat down in her chair and let her get to work. Brittany was gracious enough to take a few pictures.<\/p>\n

Because my hair grows so fast, and I prefer shorter hair over longer hair, I am never afraid to change hair styles dramatically. Brittany was almost\u00a0having a melt down\u00a0just thinking about what I was doing.<\/p>\n

I think my new hair cut is adorable. John is OK with it, even though if he had his choice it would still be long.<\/p>\n
