I need to wash up.\u00a0 I don’t mind camping without amenities,\u00a0 but if we are only going to be staying at a hotel every three days or so, I need a way to wash so I feel good.\u00a0 I lay out some bottles of water in the sun for them to warm while we get breakfast around.\u00a0 We strip down and wash top to bottom rinsing with the warmed water.\u00a0 John agrees it\u00a0 feels wonderful to get cleaned up and refreshed for another day on the road.\u00a0 He will come up with a way to warm enough water for both of us to wash.<\/p>\n

Medicine Bow is supposed to have one of the largest free roaming Mustang herds in America.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1005\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It is too far out of our way to go where the herd is reported to be, but I would have loved to seen them.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1006\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Instead, we decide to look for our next geocache along our route. We find snow along the side of the road first. Photo! Here we are in shorts and sandals and we are standing in snow, how cool! (no pun intended)<\/p>\n

The next cache is located by Lake Mary in Medicine Bow. Our drive to the cache takes us by some scenic overlooks.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1007\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wow, we love the terrain in this area.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1009\"<\/a><\/p>\n

You can see for miles and miles.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1011\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And there are the coolest rocks. So different than those we have in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

We make it to the lake and it is amazing.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1016\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I\u2019m getting tired of using the word \u201camazing\u201d but I don\u2019t know what else to say about what we see.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1025\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Okay, time to find the cache, which is on top of a small rocky hill.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1034\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It offers a more bird\u2019s eye view of the lake.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1029\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The flowers and trees are similar and different all at the same time.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1003\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Well, now this is a weird evergreen tree.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1035\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We want to make it to the next camping area (which will be just across the Colorado border) early so we have time to relax and plan our trip down through Colorado.<\/p>\n

So, we are hitting the road now to drive, drive, drive.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1026\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Again to keep costs down we are limiting our meals at restaurants, and we stop at a grocery store and buy some steak and potatoes before looking for a camping area.<\/p>\n

\"DSC_1027\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The State park we have come to has fee camping areas but so far we don’t like any of them.\u00a0 We keep driving around and lo and behold we find a free site next to some water. It looks like someone pulled in and made a fire ring out of rocks.\u00a0 I figure as long as the ranger doesn’t tell us to leave we are good.\u00a0 Thunderstorms are rolling in but we’ve got our supper made and are eating in the truck before it really starts to down pour.<\/p>\n
