As it turns out Looking Glass Road is part of an off-road trail that leads to the Needles, so by accident, we get to check off another trail in our book.<\/p>\n

The last time we were here in Moab, we did not come down to the Needles. So this is brand new for all of us.<\/p>\n

Showing a picture of the Needles formations are difficult because they are so far away.<\/p>\n

Canyonlands is HUGE! Like Grand Canyon huge. It may not be as deep or wide, but it\u2019s big enough.<\/p>\n

It is so hard to believe that all of this was created by wind, water and subsidence.<\/p>\n

Its hard to perceive the scale from here but the white lines are roads and the bumps are towering ledges of cliffs. We\u2019ve not driven through the Needles because it requires an overnight stay. Yeah, my tent camping days are over.<\/p>\n

Those snow covered mountains can be seen from everywhere.<\/p>\n

There are little paths that wind throughout the overlook area. It is very serene and quiet.<\/p>\n

Canyonlands, especially this time of year, is not crowded like the Grand Canyon is and there are plenty of spots to just sit quietly and enjoy the beauty.<\/p>\n

Of course, then there is John, striking his \u201cI am the most interesting man in the world\u201d pose.<\/p>\n

The bushes or trees show evidence of strong winds. It is amazing where they find to grow. And I can\u2019t eve keep a house plant alive.<\/p>\n

Candy is happily wandering around, taking pictures and then Andy hollers to her that if she saw what was holding the rock she was standing, she wouldn\u2019t be there. I told her he was just kidding with her. I\u2019m not sure she believed either of us.<\/p>\n
