From Yuma, the Mexican border is only about a half hour away. Andy and Candy are getting dental work done and Candy and I need glasses. Yes, both are much cheaper in Mexico and the quality of care is comparable to United States facilities. The doctors study and train in the US but work in Mexico. Besides, they are so welcoming. Our crossing guard is the best. Always with a smile, he welcomes us in.<\/p>\n

I like shopping in this little Mexican town. The street markets that line every street in the Los Algodones tourist area are all so colorful.<\/p>\n

The vendors can be a bit pushy sometimes but it is fun to dicker with them over prices. Lets see, some of their favorite call phrases: \u201cGood prices. Almost free.\u201d \u201cDo you need dental care or eye glasses?\u201d \u201cWhat you need lady? Come in and see. I have good prices.\u201d \u201cYou get a free bag (grocery-type) with any purchase.\u201d<\/p>\n

They have so many fun things. I really love the cute metal-work figurines. I had to bring a few of these little guys home with me.<\/p>\n

Sugar skulls, painting of skulls and skull figurines are very popular. I love these Catrina figurines and picture..<\/p>\n

This year both Candy and I are into the street artists. It is amazing what they can do with spray paint and a Mexican paint brush \u2013 a plastic bag, ha, ha. I thought that was funny when they told us that. But the work is amazing. I got a table from Sandra and a couple of plaques from an artist who I can\u2019t remember his name or read it off of the plaque. Andy built three stands, one for them, one for John and me, and one for my son.<\/p>\n

There are so many other things I want but the money has run out until next year. Sad face. Well, there might be some left over for some good Mexican food.<\/p>\n
