Christmas is over. We\u2019ve flown back to Phoenix, fired up the RV and are heading to Quartzsite. We arrive in our usual spot and think we are settling in for some much needed quiet time waiting for Andy and Candy to meet up with us.<\/p>\n

Not to be. The annoying little cough that started in Pennsylvania is getting worse despite all of my usual at-home treatments. It\u2019s getting worse in a big way. I give in and ask John to take me to the emergency room. The closest one is in Blythe, California, a half hour away.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a small hospital and gives me the feeling of being in a poor Mexican area. There are several border patrol people with their detainees, the usually elderly and small children. The emergency area is so small John cannot come back with me.<\/p>\n

After my evaluation, the doctor prescribes breathing treatments, and sends me on my way with some antibiotics and instructions that if I\u2019m not starting to feel better in a couple of days to seek medical help.<\/p>\n

Well, I\u2019m not feeling any better, in fact, I\u2019m feeling worse. This time we are heading to Yuma\u2019s emergency room. To make a long story short, I\u2019m diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and admitted to the hospital where I stay for a week.<\/p>\n

John is heading to Taiwan for work and I\u2019m in no shape to care for myself. Mama to the rescue. She flies in the same day John flies out. I can honestly say I would not have recovered as smoothly without her. Gotta love the mama.<\/p>\n

She took me shopping when I thought I could manage. I did need one of the powered scooter carts. It was kind of fun! I didn\u2019t take out any displays or run anyone over.<\/p>\n
